Spring Break Blah

2004-03-11::12:24 p.m.

Wow, so this has been the best Spring Break eva!!!

Or not. Really, all I have done is read and slept. That's it. I have barely left this apartment this week. Except Tuesday I went to see The Passion of the Christ with my friend Steve. (Hubba, hubba. No, it isn't like that, he's hot, but we are just friends.). Really, I can't say anything about this movie that hasn't already been said- just go see it already, if you are one of the four people in the world who haven't yet.

Oh, and so yesterday I went for my orientation at Blockbuster- did I mention Steve got me a job at his store out in BFE? Well, he did, and finally, two weeks later, I had my orientation. It was a long, drawn-out affair, not completely awful, because in some perverse way I guess I enjoy retail. I am really not looking forward to another retail position though, because basically, it is the same everywhere. And I know me, I am going to be a hardworker no matter how much I want to just not give a fuck about this job. I just don't want it to interfere with school, because I am doing really well, and I don't want to blow it because I am spending too many hours ringing up videos. It'll be nice to have a paycheck again, though.

So, that's been my week, in a nutshell. I still have a shitload of work to be done before I return to class on Monday, and of course I have done none of it. I am plowing through Madame Bovary right now, which is fine, really, I just hate having to force myself to get it done within the weekend. Spring Break is supposed to be a break though, right? Kids are going to Cancun and shit, so I am not going to stress about how much I've read or drawn over break- even though it would be nice to get a little ahead for once.

On the bright side, after my first training session on Friday, (insert groan here), I will be off to Kalamazoo to visit JAls, where we will play too much Scrabble, stuff our faces, and rent Party Monster. Talk about a hot weekend. I just hope I don't fall off the wagon!

My Smiths anthem is...'What She Said' My Smiths anthem is... "What She Said"
Snarl, cynic, snarl! Your philosophy and intellect seem to have gotten the best of you, and you seem to like it so far (at least outwardly). People? Who needs people when you have books and mountains of rationalization? Consider whether your bad luck in life may be the result of a matching mountain of self-pity, and try something new for a change (or someone new...)
"What She Said" is from Meat Is Murder.
